These terms are for the Novo Workshop partner app, owned and operated by Lantiex (Pty) Ltd. For the Novo customer app, see the Novo Terms of Service. For Lantiex’s general company terms, see the Lantiex Terms of Service. If anything conflicts for Novo Workshop, this page applies.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you (the workshop, business, or authorised user) and Lantiex (Pty) Ltd (“Lantiex”, “we”, “us”, “our”) for your use of the Novo Workshop mobile application, partner onboarding tools, and related partner services (together, the “Workshop App” or “App”).
Lantiex developed, owns, and controls the Novo platform. Novo connects customers who need on-demand vehicle services with independent workshops in South Africa.
Please read these Terms together with our Workshop Privacy Policy. By applying to partner with Novo, submitting onboarding documents, creating or using a workshop login, or using the Workshop App, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the workshop you represent. If you do not agree, do not apply and do not use the Workshop App.
1. Who we are
Lantiex (Pty) Ltd
South Africa
Support: support@lantiex.com
Website: https://lantiex.com
Workshop Privacy Policy: https://lantiex.com/novo/workshop/privacy-policy/
These Terms: https://lantiex.com/novo/workshop/terms-of-service/
Lantiex operates Novo as a marketplace. We help customers request vehicle services and match them with nearby independent workshops. We provide the Workshop App so approved partners can receive job offers, submit quotes, navigate to customers, update job status, pay platform commission, and manage their Novo presence.
Lantiex does not itself perform jump starts, tyre changes, towing, washes, or other vehicle work unless we expressly say so in writing.
2. The service and your relationship with Novo
2.1 What Novo provides to workshops
Through the Workshop App (once your workshop is approved and your login is active) you may, subject to coverage, availability, and your account status:
- go online or offline and set the services and pricing you offer on Novo
- receive incoming job alerts and offers from nearby customers
- accept or decline offers, submit quotes, and re-quote if a customer rejects a quote
- navigate to the customer, share live location while en route, and update job status
- call the customer using the phone number shown for the job
- view job and activity history, commission owed, and pay platform fees
- rate customers after completed jobs
2.2 What Novo does not provide
- We do not guarantee any minimum number of jobs, revenue, or customers
- We do not employ you or your staff. You remain an independent business
- We do not process customer payments to you inside the Workshop App. Customers pay you directly on arrival (cash, card, or PayShap, as they confirm in the customer App)
- We do not collect customer card numbers or bank details for you in the Workshop App
- We do not insure your work, your vehicles, your staff, or customer vehicles. You must maintain your own insurance as required in section 8
- Coverage is limited to areas we have enabled. Outside those areas, matching may not occur
- We do not provide emergency dispatch. Novo is not a substitute for South African emergency services
2.3 Independent workshop; contract with the customer
You are an independent contractor or business. You and your technicians are not Lantiex employees, agents, or partners in a joint venture.
The contract for vehicle work, parts, pricing (other than the quote shown in Novo), payment on arrival, and workmanship is between you and the customer. Lantiex’s role is to operate the Novo platform (matching, quotes display, tracking, commission billing, notifications, and related features).
You are solely responsible for how you perform work, the parts you use, compliance with applicable laws, and your dealings with customers at the service location.
3. Eligibility, application, and approval
3.1 Who may apply
To partner with Novo you must:
- be a legally registered business or sole proprietor operating lawfully in the Republic of South Africa (or another structure we accept in writing)
- have authority to bind the workshop to these Terms
- provide true, complete, and current information and keep it up to date
- meet our onboarding and verification requirements, including documents we request (for example CIPC registration documents, director or owner identity documents, proof of address, bank confirmation, and any other KYC or compliance records)
- maintain the insurance required in section 8
- employ or use only staff who are competent and legally permitted to perform the work you offer on Novo
The Workshop App is a business tool. It is not directed at children. Directors, owners, and authorised users must be adults able to enter binding contracts under South African law.
3.2 Application and verification
Partner onboarding may take place through the Workshop App, our admin dashboard, email, or other channels we designate. We may ask for CIPC documents, company registration details, director or owner ID copies, contact details, workshop address and coordinates, service types, pricing, logo, and other information we reasonably need to vet partners and operate the marketplace safely.
You must not submit forged, altered, or misleading documents or information.
3.3 Our discretion to accept or reject
We may accept, reject, pause, or decline any workshop application or partnership at our sole discretion, even if you appear to meet our requirements and even if you have submitted all documents we requested. Approval is not automatic. We do not have to give reasons for a rejection, but we may do so where appropriate.
3.4 Ongoing compliance
Approval once does not guarantee continued access. You must remain eligible and compliant with these Terms and our platform standards at all times.
4. Account and access
4.1 Provision of logins
Workshop logins are created and managed by Novo. You typically sign in with an email address and password we or our admin tools assign. If you need a login, contact support@lantiex.com.
You may not create your own workshop account without our authorisation, share logins with unauthorised persons, or allow anyone who is not your employee or contractor and bound by these Terms to use the App on your behalf.
4.2 Your responsibilities
You must:
- keep passwords and devices used for the Workshop App secure
- ensure only authorised staff use the account
- tell us immediately at support@lantiex.com if you suspect unauthorised access
- keep workshop profile details (name, phone, address, services, pricing) accurate
You are responsible for activity under your workshop account unless we have disabled it due to our error.
4.3 One active job
You must finish or properly hand over your current active job before accepting another, except where the App or we expressly allow otherwise.
4.4 Availability
You control whether you are online and available for jobs through the App. Going offline may reduce or stop incoming offers. We do not guarantee offers while you are online.
5. Platform standards
You agree to meet Novo’s platform standards, including:
5.1 Professional conduct
- treat customers and Novo support respectfully
- do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, or endanger customers or their property
- attend jobs you have accepted and quoted in a reasonable time, or update status and communicate honestly if delayed
- do not request payment outside Novo for jobs sourced through Novo in a way that evades platform commission
5.2 Accurate information
- submit honest quotes based on the service requested and your inspection where applicable
- do not deliberately misquote, bait-and-switch, or charge amounts materially inconsistent with the accepted quote without customer agreement
- keep your services, pricing, and workshop details accurate in the App
5.3 Job fulfilment and tracking
- share live location through the Workshop App while you are en route to an accepted job, as the App requires
- update job status truthfully (on the way, arrived, in progress, work done)
- perform work with reasonable skill and care and in line with applicable law and industry standards
5.4 Customer personal information
- use customer information received through Novo only to fulfil the job and as allowed in these Terms and the Workshop Privacy Policy
- do not sell, rent, or use customer data for unrelated marketing without lawful basis and, where required, consent
- delete or securely retain customer information in line with POPIA and your own obligations once the job no longer requires it
5.5 Commission and fees
- pay platform commission when due, as described in section 7
- do not attempt to bypass commission on jobs obtained through Novo
5.6 Insurance
- maintain valid public liability and/or workmanship insurance appropriate to the services you perform through Novo, and provide proof when we ask
5.7 Ratings
- rate customers honestly after completed jobs
- do not manipulate ratings or retaliate against customers for low ratings
5.8 Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- use false identity, vehicle, location, pricing, or onboarding documents
- impersonate another workshop or person
- interfere with the App, scrape it, or reverse engineer it except as allowed by law
- use Novo while impaired or in a way that creates unreasonable risk
- commit fraud, theft, or violence in connection with Novo jobs
- use the App for any unlawful purpose
We may investigate reports of misconduct and take action under section 12.
6. Jobs, quotes, and matching
6.1 Incoming offers
When a customer requests a service in your area, we may notify you through the App (including push notifications and alerts). You may accept or decline offers according to the App’s workflow. Declining does not affect your account unless we determine you are abusing the system.
6.2 Quotes
If you accept an offer, you may need to submit a quote. The customer sees your quote in the customer App and may confirm, reject, or select another workshop. If a quote is rejected, you may need to submit a revised quote.
Prices shown in Novo for a confirmed job are based on your quote (and any customer-side promo applied by Novo to the customer total). Novo does not set your workshop’s catalogue prices.
6.3 Customer choice and cancellation
Customers may cancel according to the customer Terms before work starts. We or the customer may cancel if matching fails, coverage is unavailable, or there is a safety or policy issue. If a job is cancelled or expires before completion, you are not entitled to platform commission on that job.
6.4 Customer payment to you
Customers pay you directly on arrival using the method they confirmed (cash, card on arrival, or PayShap). Novo does not collect customer job payments on your behalf in the Workshop App. Any dispute about payment at the vehicle is between you and the customer, subject to applicable law.
6.5 Completion
When work is done, you mark the job accordingly in the App. The customer confirms completion in the customer App. Platform commission accrues on completed jobs as described in section 7.
6.6 No guarantee of work
We do not guarantee that you will receive offers, win quotes, or earn any particular income through Novo.
7. Fees, commission, and payments to Novo
7.1 Platform commission
For each completed job sourced through Novo, you owe Lantiex a platform commission calculated on the job total according to the commission rate and rules displayed in the Workshop App at the time the job completes (or as otherwise communicated to you in writing).
The commission rate and related fee rules are subject to change. We may update the rate shown in the App or notify you of changes by email, in the App, or on our website. Continued use of the Workshop App after a change constitutes acceptance of the new rate unless we require separate acceptance.
We do not publish a fixed commission percentage in these Terms. Always refer to the App for the current rate and calculation method.
7.2 When commission is due
Commission typically accrues when the customer confirms work is done in the customer App. It is recorded against your workshop commission balance in the App.
7.3 Paying Novo
You must pay accrued commission through the Fees section of the Workshop App (or another payment method we provide). Payment processing may use third-party payment service providers now or in future.
Until commission is paid, your balance may increase. If your unpaid commission reaches the due limit shown in the App, we may block you from submitting new quotes until you pay. We may still send incoming job alerts so you can see new requests and pay outstanding fees. Other restrictions may apply as shown in the App.
7.4 Taxes
You are responsible for your own tax obligations (including VAT if registered). Commission invoices or statements may be provided as the App or our operations allow.
7.5 No Novo payouts to you for customer job payments
Customer job payments are made directly to you by the customer. Novo does not remit customer job proceeds to your bank account and does not act as your payment agent for customer collections, unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written agreement.
8. Insurance, workmanship, and liability to customers
8.1 Your insurance
You must at all times maintain public liability insurance and/or workmanship insurance (or equivalent cover) appropriate to the services you perform through Novo, with coverage limits we may specify from time to time. You must provide certificates or proof on request.
Novo and Lantiex do not insure your business, your staff, your tools, or customer vehicles.
8.2 Workmanship
You are solely responsible for:
- the quality, safety, and legality of work you perform
- parts, fluids, and materials you supply
- damage caused by your negligence, faulty work, or failure to follow reasonable standards
- compliance with occupational health and safety and other applicable laws at the service location
8.3 Indemnity
You indemnify Lantiex against claims, losses, fines, and costs arising from your work, your staff, your breach of these Terms, your misuse of customer information, or your dealings with customers, except to the extent caused by Lantiex’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
9. Customer personal information
When you receive a job through Novo, you may see customer information such as name, phone number, service location, vehicle details, service type and options, notes, and a customer rating snapshot.
You must:
- use that information only to perform the job, communicate about the job, and meet reasonable record-keeping requirements
- protect it against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse
- not disclose it to third parties except as needed to perform the job (for example a sub-contractor bound by confidentiality) or as required by law
- comply with POPIA and other applicable privacy laws as an operator of personal information you hold for the job
You do not receive customer identity numbers, driver’s licence details, or passwords through the Workshop App.
For how Lantiex processes workshop and job data, see the Workshop Privacy Policy.
10. Ratings
Customers may rate your workshop after completed jobs. You may rate customers after completed jobs. Ratings must be honest and related to the job experience.
We may display aggregate ratings to customers. We may remove or adjust ratings that are abusive, fraudulent, or clearly unrelated to a genuine job, where we reasonably can.
11. Intellectual property
The Workshop App, the Novo name and logos, and related content belong to Lantiex or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Workshop App for your approved workshop operations in South Africa, in line with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the App. You may not use Novo branding except as we authorise in writing.
12. Suspension, pause, termination, and removal
12.1 Our rights
We may, at our discretion and with or without notice where the law allows:
- pause or restrict your access to incoming jobs or quoting
- suspend or disable your login
- terminate or permanently remove your workshop from Novo
Reasons may include, without limitation:
- breach of these Terms or platform standards
- unpaid commission or repeated failure to pay fees when due
- fraud, fake documents, or misrepresentation in onboarding
- safety complaints, violence, harassment, or theft
- poor conduct, dishonest quoting, or abuse of the matching system
- failure to maintain required insurance
- misuse of customer personal information
- legal or regulatory requirements
- inactivity or business closure
12.2 Effect of suspension or removal
If we suspend or remove you:
- you must stop presenting yourself as a Novo partner and stop using the Workshop App unless we tell you otherwise
- you must still pay commission and other amounts owed for jobs completed before removal
- provisions that by nature should survive (including indemnity, confidentiality, and liability limits) continue to apply
12.3 Appeals
If you believe we acted in error, email support@lantiex.com with your workshop name, login email, and a clear explanation. We will review in reasonable time but do not guarantee reinstatement.
13. Third-party services
The Workshop App uses third-party infrastructure, including Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config), Google Maps / Places / Directions, and Apple or Google push notifications. Their terms and privacy notices also apply to their services. Outages may affect Novo.
We may add payment processors for commission payments in future. Their terms will apply when you use them.
14. Disclaimers
The Workshop App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
- we do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or fully covered service
- we do not warrant any particular volume of jobs or income
- map, GPS, and ETA information are estimates only
- we are not a party to your contract with the customer except as platform operator
These Terms govern a business-to-business relationship. The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 generally does not apply to your use of the Workshop App as a workshop partner. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lantiex and its directors, staff, and suppliers are not liable for:
- loss arising from your work, staff, parts, pricing, or dealings with customers
- loss of profits, business, goodwill, or anticipated jobs
- unavailability of customers, coverage, or matching
- device, network, map, or GPS inaccuracy
- indirect or consequential loss or loss of data
Where we are liable and liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability to you for a claim relating to the Workshop App is limited to the greater of (a) the commission you paid to us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) R 1 000.
This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Confidentiality
You must keep confidential any non-public information about Novo’s systems, pricing rules, commission mechanics, and unreleased features that we share with you, except where disclosure is required by law or needed to perform a job.
17. Changes
We may change the Workshop App, commission rules, platform standards, and these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be posted at https://lantiex.com/novo/workshop/terms-of-service/ or notified in the App or by email.
If you continue to use the Workshop App after a change, you accept the new Terms unless we require separate acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the App and contact support@lantiex.com to discuss termination of your partnership.
18. General
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
- If a clause is unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
- These Terms and the Workshop Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Lantiex for the Workshop App, except for any separate written agreement we sign with you.
- You may not assign your rights or obligations without our written consent. We may assign the Novo platform or these Terms to an affiliate or successor.
- Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.
- English is the controlling language of these Terms.
